Why are cargo bib shorts so popular at the moment?

Although it’s no secret that Angry Pablo has positioned itself as a nonconformist brand that doesn’t like to ‘jump on bandwagons’, some bandwagons are simply too good to miss. Every cycling brand under the sun is making cargo bib shorts at the moment, and while lots of fads come and go in the cycling industry, we don’t think this one is going anywhere. Cargo bib shorts are here to stay.

A well manufactured pair of cargo bib shorts might not be so easy to come by though. We’ve certainly never owned a pair. Well, not until now that is.

When we come up with an idea for a new product, we like to visualise the concept before we put pen to paper and actually start designing: four pockets - two on the sides and two on the lower back - carefully selected non-piling materials for the body of the shorts; performance laser cut hems; breathable mesh straps to increase airflow up top; and a chamois to beat all chamoises (doesn’t look right, does it?). Now that’s a versatile piece of cycling kit.

Our latest product release - the Angry Pablo Cargo Bib Shorts - is designed for cyclists eager to tackle new challenges, navigate all types of terrain and spend long hours in the saddle on all-day epics. They are also perfect for a range of activities, including: road, gravel and commuting. Simply put, they offer a great option for those who are looking for a pair of bib shorts that can do a little bit more.

Crafted by industry leaders with durable, four-way stretch compression fabrics, extra-comfy, breathable mesh straps, and a chamois perfect for going the distance, the Angry Pablo Cargo Bib Shorts deliver on both comfort and functionality. The chamois is sourced from Italy, made from recycled materials, and boasts ultra high-density inserts in the perineal and ischiatic area, making it ideal for tough days in the saddle.

Over the last few years we’ve seen how much the cycling industry has changed, and we need to do our best to keep up. Each component of these bib shorts has been carefully designed and tested with this changing landscape in mind. Celebrating hybrid lifestyles means making cycling clothing and accessories that reflect this shift, and a pair of bib shorts that work in all environments, and offer superior storage options for use across a range of different activities, seems like an excellent place to start.
